BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART

Matthew 5:8

We are living in a world where God is not wanted or acknowledged. Yet the Christian is told to keep his eyes on Jesus Christ. Many of our brethren are discouraged and turned out of the way because they have not had a glimpse of God in a long time. I think it is time we went looking for God!

1. TO LOOK TO THE LORD IS A COMMAND –Heb. 12:1-2

1. we must look unto the Lord for salvation—Isa. 45:22
2. we must look unto the Lord for direction—Ps. 123:1-2
3. we must look unto the Lord for strength to walk in righteousness—Isa. 51:1; Micah 7:7 (951)

1. TO LOOK UNTO THE LORD IS A PRIVILEGE – Jer. 29:11-13

1. we see who he is—Jn. 14:7-9; Heb. 1:2-3; Rev. 1:11-18
2. we see who we are—Isa. 6:1-5

1. TO LOOK UPON THE LORD REQUIRES A PURE HEART – Heb. 12:14-15

1. a heart made new by the cleansing of the blood of Christ—Lk. 10:21-24
2. a heart kept pure to God will see the Lord in everything—Matt. 5:8

1. keep your heart clean and you will see God work in your every day affairs
2. keep your heart clean and you will see God direct your life
3. keep your heart clean and you will see God move in your church
4. keep your heart clean and you will see God answer your prayers
5. keep your heart clean and you will see God use you in his service
6. keep your heart clean and you will see God bless your personal relationships (spouse, children, parents, friends, co-workers, etc. )
